It may not be indicated on your favourite calendar, but March is Myeloma Month! In my opinion, as well as that of many of my nursing colleagues, myeloma is one of the most difficult types of blood and marrow cancers to understand. Not only does it impact the production of healthy blood cells in the marrow, it also causes damage to the skeletal system (bones) as well as the renal system (kidneys).
In the spirit of Myeloma Month and increasing awareness of this life threatening cancer, here is some information about this complicated disease:
