Ethan Zohn, 37 year old philanthropist and winner of television's "Survivor:Africa" has revealed that the Hodgkin lymphoma he battled in 2008/09 has returned. Fortunately, he states that the disease appears to have only recurred in his chest.
His initial course of treatment included chemotherapy which was not successful, followed by a stem cell transplant which put his cancer into remission for just under two years.
He is currently undergoing treatment with the newly FDA approved brentuximab vedotinan (Adcentris). Ethan also reveals that he may have an allogeneic stem cell transplant in the future with one of his brothers as the donor.
In spite of these recent setbacks and challenges, Ethan ran the New York City marathon earlier this month in support of his HIV awareness charity "Grassroot Soccer"
